WINTER RULES – When Applied

General Area cut to Fairway height or less

When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area:

  • Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.
  • Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: 6 inches from the reference point, but with these limits:
  • Limits on Location of Relief Area:
    • Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and
    • Must be in the general area.

In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e.

Relief for Embedded Ball

When a player’s ball is embedded in the general area and relief is allowed under Rule 16.3a, the player may take free relief by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area (see Rule 14.3):

  • Reference Point: The spot right behind where the ball is embedded.
  • Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: One club-length, but with these limits:
  • Limits on Location of Relief Area:
    • Must be in the general area, and
    • Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point.

Penalty for Playing a Ball from a Wrong Place in Breach of Rule 16.3: General Penalty under Rule 14.7a.

Tees

Gentlemen:  General Play is always from the position of the yellow markers.

Ladies:  Please play from the position of the red markers.

Buggy / Trolley Restrictions

For course protection, daily restrictions on the use of buggies, electric trolleys, or all trolleys may be applied without notice.  Where course conditions warrant it the use of winter wheels (HedgeHog or equivalent) will be a requirement of using electric trolleys. Please contact reception for daily clarification.

Please note:  Do not take trolleys or buggies into the restricted area in front of the greens when indicated by the white strips.
