The Solstice Scramble is a 4-person team event with a single score to count on every hole.
This year the event switched from the normal morning tee times to afternoon / early evening. 15 teams of 4 persons contested for the title, with the last tee time at 17.00.
The weather in the days prior to and on the day of the competition had been exceptionally hot which meant a good run for golf balls on the fairway, but necessitated inventive shots in approaching the greens and stopping the ball.
Our thanks to the Green staff who had been working hard to prepare the course for the upcoming Men’s Club Championship so it was in perfect condition for this competition.
Given the course conditions there were some good scores with 1st place going to the team of Keith Bint, John Maile, John Glover and Michael Perrott with a nett score of 50.6 points.
The best gross winners scoring 61 were Ryan Coy, Ian Barber, Scott Harris and Ian Sayce.
Prizes will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rd placings and all added to members cards.
