Slideslow Cup Sunday 27th September 2026
Taking consecutive tee times on Sunday 26th September the finals of the Slideslow Cup between Dave Straw and Mike Small and the Greensomes Cup between Chris Alton / Jon Cofield & Jay Davis / Kevin Smith were competed in cooler conditions than of late with the occasional shower.

Dave won the toss and took the initiative on the first tee with a drive down the right-hand side of the fairway. From there he was able to secure a par and win the first hole. That win proved to be short lived as Mike came back to win the next 4 holes with two bogeys and two pars to open up a 3 hole margin. They halved and traded holes to the 10th as Dave tried to counter some of Mike’s impressive play. Mike then pushed home his advantage winning holes 11 & 12 before an impressive chip for a gimme par on 13 secured a 6&5 victory.

Both matches benefitted from the course being in great condition following our Autumn maintenance and were played in the true spirit of matchplay golf. Congratulations to the winners and the runners up!
