Senior Men’s Club Championship 2026
On Tuesday the 7th July 2026, 85 senior golfers gathered in the summer heat at Bromsgrove Golf Club to contest the Senior Men’s Club Championship with the title of the Club’s Senior Men’s Champion and Senior Men’s Nett Champion 2026 up for grabs. The field was divided into two divisions, those aged 55 to 67 in division 1 and those aged 68 and above on the day of the competition in division 2.
The course was prepared and set up superbly by Adam Baldwin and his Greens Team with the hard and dry fairways, creating a challenge for the competitors, being compensated by the superb condition of the greens.
Of the early starters Geoff Moss quickly set the pace in the nett competition, posting an impressive 42 points, with Colin McLelland providing the closest challenge as the day progressed. Richard Alsop eventually eclipsed Geoff’s score with a superb 43 points to claim the title of Senior Nett Champion 2026.
The challengers for the best gross score came late in the day with the top 3 golfers coming from the last two groups out. Mike Pearce and 2025 champion Mat Dale, playing together, both came in with 79 strokes and could only be separated by a card countback over the final three holes, Mike coming out on top. Their score was then beaten by Rod Armstrong playing in the final group who delivered a superb 78 to claim the title of Senior Club Champion 2026.
Behind the overall winners came the divisional awards with Colin McLelland triumphing in Division 1, and Graham Solomon taking the honours in Division 2 where the first three places were only separated on a card countback over the back 9 holes.
