Senior Ladies 9-hole Winter Pairs League Final : 15th April 2025
On a bright April morning Laura Lawrence & Karen Pearson took on current and immediate past Lady Captains Carolyn Fox & Sharon Easton-Pollock in the Senior Ladies Winter Pairs final (both pairs pictured on the first tee).
Laura was the low handicapper giving 5 shots to both her playing partner Karen and Carolyn, with Sharon receiving 6 shots.
A nett par on the first for Sharon gave a one-hole lead, however, two pars in quick succession for Laura on holes 2 & 3 reversed the deficit before the next 3 holes were halved. A further par from Laura on hole 7 put the pairing 2 up with 2 to play. Despite a fight back on hole 8 by Sharon and Carolyn to take the match down the final fairway, Laura and Karen won the 9th when Karen played a 150yd approach shot to close range for a “gimme”.

Congratulations to both teams for a match featuring some excellent golf and played in a great spirit. The winners are pictured with the trophy, which they will formally receive at the Presentation Evening in November.
