SENIOR CAPTAIN’S AWAY DAY

HOLLYWOOD GOLF CLUB

Lady Captain Michelle Parry and Senior Men’s Captain Gary McCartney welcomed a total of 60 seniors to Hollywood Golf Club for their away day.  All agreed that the day was a great success, with all enjoying the golf, the day and the camaraderie both before and during the golf as well as at the meal afterwards.

Hollywood Golf Club were very welcoming and the arrangements from their end were excellent.  A big thank you was passed onto them from all of our players.

A big thank you also went to Sharon Easton-Pollock and Gerry Moxon for their help in arranging and running the day.

As in previous years, the gift raffle was a big success and very popular with all 60 players each receiving some gift from the day.  The success of the raffle would not have been possible without the efforts of the golfers; great work and credit to the generosity of Bromsgrove players.

This year we included an added element to the day, with each golfer being able to buy Mulligans (@ 2 for £5).  We used this money in 3 ways, by adding an extra prize level for the main prize giving (so we had 6 prizes instead of 5), by holding a draw of the Mulligan raffle tickets for a series of cash prizes and finally being able to increase our donation to the Captains Charities to £214.

Detailed below are the team placings, with congratulations going to Dallas Swinburne, Paul Stanford, Tim Jones and Vernon Nibbs for carding the highest score on the day of 94.  In fact, the carded scores for the top 6 prize winners were very close with 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th prizes all being decided on countback.
