Postponement of Annual General meeting –Thursday 7th January 2021.
The Club Annual General Meeting, due to be held on Thursday 7th January 2021,
will be postponed, because of the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19
measures. Under the Club’s Constitution, an AGM should be held within 15 months
of the previous AGM, which gives us until early April 2021 to hold the meeting.
It has been decided that the revised date for the 28th Annual General Meeting will
be Thursday 11th March 2021, to be held at Bromsgrove Golf Centre commencing
at 7.30pm. This will also incorporate the Senior Section meeting.
The Management Committee passed a resolution at its August meeting that due to
the impact of Covid-19 on the golfing year, the positions of Captains and Vice
Captain would roll over and therefore the present holders will continue in the role
during the 2021/22 season and remain in office until the 2022 AGM.
The Management Committee intend to propose a resolution seeking retrospective
approval of the decision to extend the Captains/ Vice Captains term of office, from
one to two years, at the reconvened AGM in March.
All other Officers and committee members due to step down or be re-elected in
January 2021 will remain in office until the postponed meeting is convened in
March 2021.
When the Annual General Meeting is reconvened the Management Committee
intends to propose a resolution that due to the restrictions imposed by Covid-19
the meeting approves retrospectively the decision to postpone the 2021 AGM.
Should circumstances dictate that it is not possible to hold an AGM within the 15-
month timeframe, the Management Committee will assume continuing powers
until such time as an AGM can be held.
