Forty four pairs entered the 2025 Mixed Pairs Open at Bromsgrove Golf Club on Sunday, 10th August which was the fourth year that we had staged the competition.
It was ideal conditions for golf with sunshine and little wind. Unfortunately the dry conditions of late caused a few challenges out on the course with the ball bouncing high and rolling in all directions. This did have an effect later on in the day with play taking longer than expected.
The overall winners were Veronica and Mark Bartlett from Halesowen and Churchill and Blakedown with 51 pts. Second place was Jacqueline and David Heaton from Enville GC with 50 pts on countback beating Margaret and Dave King from Redditch GC. The highest place combined age 120 yrs + was won by Jo White and Ian Broadhurst from Beeston Fields, Nottinghamshire.
The Ladies’ Nearest the Pin on the 17th was won by Jane Lampitt from Puckrup Hall and The Mens’ Longest Drive on the 8th was won by our very own Tony Dienn who stepped in at very late notice, on the morning, to play with a lady whose husband was injured.

A big thank you to all the green staff who presented the course in a tremendous condition. A big thank you to Sean and the restaurant staff who kept the bar open for late finishers.
Thank you to Mark and Karen for all their help in producing a very professional finish.
Finally to my husband, John who was there from 8.45 in the morning to 8.45 in the evening with me… a big thank you!
The feedback on the day was exceptionnel and everyone thought the course and facilities were second to none. Another success for Bromsgrove Golf Club and Centre…
