Fare and Feather 4BBB Pairs Stableford 3rd December 2022

Ninety-six members turned up for our Fare and Feather shotgun start at 8 am on a bright and sunny morning although the temperature was 6c.

The format was 4BBB Stableford with one score to count. Conditions were challenging in parts with the recent rain making the course difficult in parts. However, play was not too slow and most rounds were finished within four and half hours depending on what was your final hole on the course, then working out the shortest route back to the club was also a challenge.

All players received a bottle of wine for taking part with juniors receiving a sleeve of balls.

Two pairs tied with 42 for first place. However, Nick Lake and Alexander Lane returned 22 on the back 9 compared to 21 returned by Dave Edwards and Jon Hardy and therefore awarded 1st place. Runners up were Ashley Powis and Shane Field with 40 whose back 9 of 22 pipped the 19 returned by John Glover and Richard Ewen in third.

Five pairs scored 39 overall but after countback, 5th place went to Captain, Christian Shotton and Ian Sayce who scored 20 on the back nine. All winners received meat vouchers from local Deli Banners.

This year, fourteen ladies participated which is an excellent turnout. The highest-placed ladies were Anne Hollman-Bunn and Laura Lawrence who scored 38.
