Update September 2025
In 2017, following years of declining membership and fears for the business’s longevity, the owners began to explore other alternatives for Bromsgrove Golf Centre. They made the difficult decision to offer land for potential future development in light of Bromsgrove’s acute housing needs.
Following careful consideration, the owners entered into a long-standing contractual agreement with Blenheim Strategic Partners (BSP), a reputable land promoter with many years of experience. When Bromsgrove District Council issued a ‘Call For Sites’ in 2017, BSP submitted a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) on behalf of the site. At the time of submission, this information was shared with staff, members, customers and residents of Bromsgrove.
Bromsgrove Golf Centre’s recent inclusion in Bromsgrove District Council’s Draft Development Strategy, which was published in June 2025, is a natural progression following the 2017 SHLAA submission. It is important to note that the council’s recent announcement signals the beginning of a lengthy consultation process, which is open to public debate and will culminate with only some sites being shortlisted. However, for development to proceed on these shortlisted sites, planning must still be sought and granted – a process that can take several years to complete.
As a valued patron of Bromsgrove Golf Centre, please be reassured that everything remains business as usual. Day-to-day operations will continue as normal for the foreseeable future, and you will be kept informed of any and all relevant developments.
