Ann Morris Bowl Final – Monday 19th August

The Ann Morris Bowl final, a singles match play competition, was played on Monday 19th August between Pauline Cooke and Debbie Degge.

It was an unusually cold and windy morning for the ladies to contest this final, ensuring they wore enough warm clothing was key to the day.

Debbie went 1 up after the 3rd hole, with Pauline bringing it back all square on the 4th.
The match was close all the way through, with some excellent golf between them. Pauline took the lead for the first time on the 14th. This could have been a pivotal moment in the match but Debbie soon brought things back level after parring the 17th hole from a superb drive.

It was all to play for down the 18th, both ladies hit drives down the middle and equally good 2nd shots. Debbie’s short game proved too much for Pauline, as she comfortably parred this hole, but Pauline was unable to match it.

Debbie won on the 18th hole, 1 up.
