AmAm Open on July 22nd

Competition Report on AmAm Open on July 22nd

Fourteen teams entered the 4ball Betterball AmAm on July 22nd. In keeping with the recent weather, conditions were challenging due to the unpredictability of the balls bouncing and rolling far. Feedback was excellent and players thought the condition of the course was excellent considering the circumstances and the Open was well run.

Starter, John Wakelam, sent  off the teams off on time and Mary Robinson was waiting at the 10th with well needed refreshments.

The winning team  comprised of Glen Thompson (Kidderminster GC), Mike Martell, Oliver Dale and Lee Nolan (all Droitwich) who had entered at the last minute. Mike Martell won the Longest Drive on the 18th. The Nearest the Pin prize for the Ladies on the 11th was not awarded. Prizes consisted of vouchers from Midland Golf. Many thanks to Midland Golf for the prize contribution to the raffle in aid of Club Funds.

11 teams entered the Twos competition which was shared between Paul Stanford of Bromsgrove Golf Club on the 7th and Derek Bayes of Bewdley Pines GC on the 3rd.

A third player gained a Two on the 11th but failed to enter the Twos competition.
