Academy Pathway Nine And Dine

A  further event in our series of Academy Nine and Dine events took place on Saturday 20th July teeing off just after 4pm

6 groups playing a Florida scramble (4 ball) / Texas Scramble (3 ball) format.

There was a slight delay to the start time due to torrential rain and then the threat of a storm but the players braved the weather and played on. Luckily the weather improved and the players enjoyed the fun format and meeting their fellow members.
The golf was followed by our chef’s homemade Chilli and rice in the restaurant and a prize presentation.

Winners:
1st place – Paul Stanford, Gail Teague, Cheryl Leyser and Sue Proudman (See covering Picture)
2nd place – Ian Renhard, Eva Conyers, Carol Sandys
3rd place – John Cheesebrough, Roger Jeanette, Virginia Gibbs , Malcolm Hindle

The Nine and Dine is an innovative event aimed at our Academy pathway members to encourage them to come along and enjoy 9 holes of golf in a semi-competitive format followed by a meal in Edwards Bar and Restaurant. This is part of BGC’s strategy to grow the game by working in conjunction with the Academy and our four PGA professionals. It’s part of our pathway into the game and full membership.

It’s a relaxed team format supported by existing members and is a great opportunity to socialise and meet new golfing friends. You can even win a prize.
