Every year, the AGM signals the end of the term of office for four Captains and the start of an exciting golfing year for their successors. On Thursday 22nd January 2026, the AGM duly ratified the appointment of four new Captains for 2026. These are:
Men’s – Gary McCartney replacing Lee Machin See Cover Photograph Gary (Left) Lee (Right)
Ladies’ – Stephanie Baines (Right) replacing Carolyn Fox (Left)
Senior Men’s – David Jackson (Right) replacing Paul Stanford (Left)
Juniors – Hettie Walsh replacing Ruby Savage
As is tradition, the outgoing captains presented club badged blazers to the incoming captains to mark the start of their year of office – photos of the new Men’s, Ladies’ and Senior Men’s Captains with their predecessors are attached. There is a separate presentation for the Junior Captain at the Juniors AGM next month.
The AGM also approved the appointment of four new Vice-Captains. They are: Nick Lake (Men’s), Annoesjka Plummer (Ladies’), Dave Ellerton (Senior Men’s) and Jake Jeff-Johnston (Juniors).
We wish them well for the new season. Let’s hope the main season is both sunny and warm, though there can be no guarantees.
